Compass 82 Executive Director, Susan Marticek, and Director of Operations, Bridget Holmes, meet with New Jersey’s Congressman Tom MacArthur to discuss the National Flood Insurance Program.

Compass 82 is dedicated to be a change agent of disaster recovery. We are shedding light on the many challenges facing affected individuals and communities. We are fighting for better systems to make recovery faster and easier.

In the aftermath of a disaster, those impacted are left facing heartache, piles of paperwork, and a complex network of systems they have never encountered before. It is a daunting, and often dire, experience. Our compassionate and persistent team of experienced and skilled staff work diligently on behalf of disaster survivors to be sure that their needs are recognized and addressed:

  • Seek out and apply for appropriate funds and programs
  • Communicate with FEMA and other agencies
  • Review and maximize insurance payouts

Having served dozens of communities with a variety of disaster recovery needs, Compass 82 is in a unique position to illuminate their most common obstacles. We are committed to being an agent of change through strong advocacy and have represented disaster survivors at all levels, including:

  • Addressed Congress for changes to the National Flood Insurance Program
  • Served as a subject matter expert at U.S. Senate Sandy Task Force hearing
  • Provided expert testimony to Governor Edward’s Restore Louisiana Task Force
